Once we made contact with Peter, he was out within a couple of days, gave us a comprehensive quote and started the job as soon as we were happy with the quote. Dear Peter,
I am writing this letter in recommendation of Peter Walsh Construction as an external wall insulation and heat recovery system installation building contractor. I had the pleasure of employing Peter and Timothy Walsh on external renovation of our house using Ceresit products and installing a heat recovery system and warm attic space.
I can recommend them both highly and without reservation. Throughout the course of the renovation, they were consummate professionals informing us of possible design options and advice. They were accurate in their initial assessment of the scale and cost of our project and 100% clear in record keeping and time logging. Peter chose and managed subcontractors working on the project well.
Our job was done with care and precision. Peter and Timothy are gifted woodcrafters and builders.
In addition, they were extremely clean and tidy in the workplace. I have never come across tradesmen like them and our neighbours also commented on the fact that the worksite was never left in disarray. They power hosed the driveway and around the site before they commenced work and swept up all insulation dust daily. They took special care to prevent any of the job dust from trailing throughout the house.
The only complexity in working with Peter is good work takes time to complete. Patience is required when you work with a perfectionist. Although our project took an additional couple of weeks to complete, I think we have a wonderful outcome.

For years we were getting advice - to do this and do that - it will make your house warmer, get rid of dampness etc. So Anne and myself decided after years of frustration to look at external wall insulation. We received three quotes. After speaking to the three potential candidates – including yourself – we found your approach, your advice, your experience and knowledge and your courteousness was by far superior to the others. Hence we decided to give you the job of making our home warmer. What a great decision that was.
Your advice was invaluable throughout the whole project. We were kept informed at all times of “the next steps”. We were so impressed that we asked you to take on three other projects. 1 - heat recovery ventilation; 2 – new footpaths and 3 – new garage door. All fantastic results. For the duration of the project you and your team became part of the family. Your attention to detail is second to none; nothing was too much trouble to you because getting the job done to the highest standard is your mantra.
What also impressed me Peter is the incredible teamwork I witnessed. Your team have the same drive and ambition to complete the job to the highest standard. Truly remarkable in this day and age. The price you quoted us for all jobs you undertook came in exactly on target, so there were no hidden or surprise charges which, in the past, I have found with a lot of contractors. The duration to complete the total project was met (very impressive). One other thing that really impressed me Peter, was the condition of the outside work area after you had finished the job, there wasn’t as much as a nail left on the ground. That, in my mind, speaks volumes about you and your professionalism.

From the initial meeting, you left a great impression on us, were meticulous in every detail, customised the basic plan that we had for the extension, came up with great suggestions and solutions to the plan. Having obtained two quotes from six building companies who viewed the site, there was only one choice for us when it came time to select a builder for our single storey extension, and that was Peter Walsh Construction.
Peter left a great impression on us from the initial meeting and throughout the building of our extension. There were never any surprises, or any costs that weren’t fully discussed or explained to us in advance and the final cost of the extension was within what was quoted to us in the beginning.
The quality of work done was consistently top notch. Including his own workmen Peter used a number of subcontractors who have worked for him over the years and were knowledgeable, skilled and competent in their respective trades. His team were conscientious about following project specifications and their work product rarely needed improvement or revision. They had an old school work ethic, good work habits, and strong safety orientation and emphasised getting the job done right rather than doing it fast. Their pride in their work was evident.
We are very pleased with the final product, and are impressed with Peter Walsh Construction for their commitment to making their customer happy. The workmen were always pleasant and fun to be around, on site promptly each morning and tidied up all of their work area at the end of each day.
In closing, we are very pleased with the final product which Peter was instrumental in delivering, and we are extremely impressed with his work. RE: Installation of Roof Windows, Shower Upgrades & Electrical Work
"I had a project completed by Peter Walsh Construction in June 2016. It comprised the removal and replacement of four large roof lights in my dormer house plus upgrades to shower facilities and minor repairs.
The nature of the work was difficult, varied and required experience and knowhow to execute it successfully. They planned the execution of the works in great detail, explained it and kept me informed.
Any subbies they called on for specialist support were of the highest order.
They are well organised, have two yellow vans on the road that are basically travelling workshops. They can lay their hands on anything within that van to “set up” for any job, big or small. It means they don’t have to be “coming and going” to get the job done.
Health and safety was important in this job. Scaffolding and roof ladders were a requirement. These were set up and secured to the highest standards, meaning all potential risks were prepared for.
Communication was of the highest order. They kept me fully informed of progress. They were self sufficient and brought their own sustenance with them. I carried on with normal life in the house and let them at it. I had no cleaning up to do as they hovered up and tidied up every day.
I never met these guys before. It was pure chance that I came upon them. I was driving out to Lenane one day, thinking about the upgrade to the house as I was driving along. I spotted the yellow van with all the accreditations and skill sets posted on its side. I turned around 100m further on and came back to their site where I met Peter. He came to view my house about a week later and we agreed a deal.
Peter and Tim are a father and son team. This is my experience of how they work together. They agree a plan amongst each other as to how “the work” is to be done. They explain it to the customer and then they execute the plan to the highest standards. Both are very skilled, take great pride in their work and importantly they know what aspects of a project need an external specialist. Their specialist subbies are very skilled and responsive and it’s obvious there is a lot of mutual respect between them, garnered over many years working together.
They have great craft, understand customer service, are respectful to their client’s needs and importantly, trustworthy. They come with my highest recommendation.
